About ALison

My name is Alison and I received my Masters Degree as a therapist in Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy at the University of Northern Colorado. My passion has included working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and overall families in the areas of trauma like sexual and physical abuse or neglect, high conflict divorce, the death of a loved one, depression and anxiety, domestic violence and issues around intimacy to name a few. In addition, I have worked with clients on parental support, premarital therapy, teens and effective coping skills, couples therapy and overall familial conflict.

It is important to me to always provide my clients effective healing experiences, which is why I continue to expand my own training and capabilities as a therapist. I feel strongly that no one-therapy modality is right for everyone. We are all beautifully unique which means that I must be able to offer each client a unique and tailored experience.

My passion for helping others reaches beyond the therapy room. Recognizing that our youth today are faced with more stressors and pressures than any other generation in the past, I realized we needed to do something more as a community. With the help and dedication of community school counselors and parents, I founded the nonprofit, s.n.a.p.p.!, a northern Colorado organization with a mission to support our teens through mentorship, knowledge and community. For more information, please visit my website at www.snapp4teens.org.

When I am not in therapy with clients you may find me doing anything to enjoy the Colorado outdoors like mountain biking, fishing, back-country touring or hiking. I also enjoy cooking, baking and photography as a means to relax with my family and my two fury buddies, Beau and Cruz.

By reading this it is clear you have taken the first step toward healing. I now hope your next step is calling someone to begin your journey. If you would like to contact me please feel free to do so anytime.
